There are many payment gateway options out there for e-commerce stores and when you are new to selling online, choosing between all the payment gateway providers can be really stressful.

Some providers charge all kinds of fees, joining fees, per transaction fees and % of transaction costs, but with so many companies out there offering completely different payment gateway solutions, how do you decide which is the best for you and your business?

Unfortunately, it’s not as straightforward as choosing the cheapest provider based on the size of your business and your average basket value.  If problems arise then you would need to speak with someone about the matter immediately and come to a swift resolution. Graham and Green Number One for Home Accessories

Some time ago we were approached by the well known contemporary home accessories brand Graham and Green. Our remit for the project was to create a new website with better technology, targeted infrastructure and better order and customer management. In the early discussions we set out our intentions (on the block) to help grow the online business by 30% this year.

Graham & Green set out the search Home Accessories as the dream keyword and they we not ranking at all well for it. Along with a lot of other target phrases we have gained Number 1 (Numero Uno) result for the search phrase, just above Debenhams and House of Fraser.

Godine is a really personal project for us as we have been heavily involved from conception as well as enjoying a long history of friendship with the company. Long have we been discussing a new web design with the team at Godine and recently we have got the go ahead. In honesty the old design is a few years out of date and in some ways has a little too much of the look and feel of the ‘clowns pocket’.

As such we are introducing some new current styles with a lot of thought towards a more on brand look and feel, with a heavy lean towards conversion. We have removed the weight of colour in the site to restructure the heirarchy of information and call to action with a view to increasing business revenue.

Search Bar Optimisation

Many ecommerce websites, either large or small, perform better with a search bar to find specific products.  They are a feature that’s installed once and then usually forgotten about completely, let’s look at ways to optimise your search bar to improve conversion rates:

Make the search bar easy to find – If you want your ecommerce website to be accessible to the biggest market possible then you have to make it almost ‘idiot-proof’.  Place it right at the top of your website, most people look for search bars in the top-right or top-left corner.  The search bar needs a tag next to it saying something simple like “Search: “, “Search Products: ” or “Find Products: “, an empty field will get less uses.  Also have a “Go” or “Search Now” button directly right of the search box to perform the actual [...]
