US web designers template goes global
Posted by Dave Wiltshire on April, 20th 2012A US web designer was completely shocked and a little out of pocket after he found the Korean Government had used his website template design for their official website.
Robert Westmore, a freelance website designer, creates templates for blog sites and websites. He was over the moon to find that his design had been used on Korea’s official site, which informs users about the country, culture, places to visit and government.

His design was purchased for a measly $15 (£9.30) but he’s rather proud to have his template facing the world, when people want to know more about the incredible eastern area.
Westmore had no idea that his design had been used until a New York student traced the original designer, when working on a project surrounding Korean propaganda. He is excited that his work is being used on such a huge [...]
Pinterest Party
Posted by Dave Wiltshire on April, 2nd 2012Although the gentlemen in the room might not admit it, the team atJuno Web Design have gone a little Pinterest crazy, why? Because it is the most incredible social site at the moment. Since it’s launch in March 2010, Pinterest has been one of the fastest growing social sites ever and is growing at an astounding rate. Based on visuals and using your own personal “pin boards”, individuals and companies create themed boards around their personal interests, likes, services, clients and general lives. It is a beautiful site to look at and people can literally spend hours looking and re-pinning items to their own boards.

Here are some incredible stats about Pinterest:
Pinterest is the new leading traffic referral generator, accounting for 3.6% of referred traffic.
After 2 years, Pinterest has 10.4 Million users which is growing every day.
Over 80% of pins are [...]
Now where did I put that document?
Posted by Dave Wiltshire on February, 10th 2012
Its a common problem in offices throughout the UK, you’ve spent hours working on it, you’ve printed it and presented it, you’ve saved it (somewhere) but now, that very important document has disappeared.
Union Square is a company that specialises in Document Management Software and approached the team at Juno Web Design to request a helping hand. Union Square caters to a range of industries including construction, architecture, consultancy, development and engineering, offering a range of solutions that means misplacing documents is a thing of the past. Their very clever systems, such as Workspace, are completely automated. Workspace creates files and stores complete accounts and projects.
Document management in these particular industries, is key to the smooth execution of a project. From initial ideas and designs, to the signing over of a completed project, important documents need to be [...]
Boom in ‘silver surfer’ e commerce
Posted by Dave Wiltshire on January, 30th 2012In recent news, Silver Surfers are the biggest group to shop online by a whopping 86%.
Over a third regularly shop on the web. Strangely, those aged 25-34 are least likely to shop online with 13% stating that they never use the Internet to purchase goods. Quite surprising, as this age group tends to be the target for many brands, as they have more disposable income.

Brits tend to shop online for an average of 2.4 hours a week, rather than 1.2 hours on the high street. Despite the increased time spent on the internet, the average spend is a little lower than on the high street. Men seem to be the biggest online spenders. These trends seem to skew the traditional way in which advertisers thought people spent. Traditionally, it would tend to be the females as the decision makers, when it [...]

Posted by David Wiltshire on July, 20th 2010Whenever you create a link to one of the pages on your website, whether it be from another page on your site, or somewhere else across the internet, you will have the opportunity to use optimized anchor text.
When a search engine spider comes across a link, they depend on the link’s anchor text to tell them what the linked page is about. Using the keywords that you want to rank for in your anchor text is extremely important!
Here is an example of anchor text:
To gain more backlinks be sure to check out my website….

[...]WordPress SEO Advantages
Posted by Dave Wiltshire on July, 2nd 2010
Juno have recently made it their policy that any site they build or manage from July 2010 onwards must contain a WordPress or Joomla blog.
WordPress is our favourite blogging software as it’s so easy to use, flexible in it’s design, has lots of great plugins and is perfect for SEO.
Anyone can add content (by posting) or edit pages of their website once WordPress has been set up correctly; Juno gives their clients the opportunity to run their own website themselves. Some web design companies charge extortionate rates for small changes to a site such as updating a menu or a adding in a special offer.
When you create a new post on WordPress Juno ensure that these things occur:
A new page is created which Google can index
The search engines are ‘pinged’ about the new post so [...]
