Submitting to directories is an easy way to get some decent backlinks to your web design. Directory submissions are old school and not as effective as they use to be, but are still worth your while, especially if you just focus on the top directories.

Traffic Generation Part 25 – The Power of RSS Feeds

RSS Stands for Really Simple Syndication, and is a feed that is produced by wordpress blogs. RSS feeds can be submitted to special places on the internet called RSS aggregators, where they are then spread around the net.

If you have a blog, you have an RSS feed, and you should certainly be submitting it. Why we are on the subjet of RSS feeds why not sign upto our RSS Feed and never miss another post.

Submitting RSS feeds is a fantastic way to get links, and is also incredibly easy. The best part is that once your feed is submitted, every time you make a new post on your blog, your feeds will all be automatically updated!

Traffic Generation Part 24 – Stumbling Upon Your Site

Anyone can sign up for an account there, and start â€œstumblingâ€ sites. Everytime you come to a site that you like, you hit a button to â€œstumble uponâ€ it. Each stumble counts as a vote, and the more votes a site gets, the more exposure it gets on the StumbleUpon website.

Not only does a stumble help by giving you a valuable backlink, but it can result in a ton of traffic too, especially if the content on your website is interesting. I would highly suggest that you start stumbling today!

Traffic Generation Part 23 – Do You Digg?

Digg is a fun site that is very popular. Anyone can sign up for an account there, and start â€œdiggingâ€ sites. Every time you come to a site that you like, you hit a button to â€œdigâ€ it. Each dig counts as a vote, and the more votes a site gets, the more exposure it gets on the Digg website.

I`d like to talk to you about one of the most popular websites out there its called digg. Essentially what this is, is a place you can goto and sign up for a free account.You can install some software on your computer and if you like a web page that you are visiting you hit the button and its called digging the web page.
Essentially your letting the service know that you like it and then the more people that digg the webpage the more popular its going to be. Its going to put that page in front of other digg users then of course if they like it they will vote for it and the more votes you get the better off you will be.
I suggest that you do this because even if you are the only person that diggs your page you never know what will happen. You never know somebody else is going to like it and before you know it you got a whole bunch of crazy traffic. Of course if you only get that one digg its still going to be a back link from one of the most powerful sites on the Internet.
Let me show you an example, you can see here these are more recent things that where dugg today, and this one was dugg 565 times.So again its one of those things that if we are able to create a page that is juicy, that’s exciting and that you think people are going to like and then you can do whatever you can to get that momentum started.
You know this means calling all friends, maybe posting your page in the forums just saying if you have friends do you mind digging this. People have got crazy amounts of traffic from digg by doing this, of course if the content on your site is`nt exciting people aren’t going to like it and its not going to work in the long run.
But again digg can provide you with a strong back link and it can also give you that chance, its kind of like playing the lottery, you never know how successful you will be until try. Why not give it ago it might just work out fantastic for you.

Traffic Generation Part 22 – Search Engine Optimization

Search engine optimization (SEO) is very important, and is actually not as hard as it sounds. When you create pages for your website, taking the time to optimize them will greatly increase your chances for receiving natural organic search engine traffic. Surprisingly, most people donâ€™t bother with SEO, giving a huge advantage to those that do. Here are a few important things to keep in mind:

1. Pay Attention to Keyword Density: It is helpful to make sure you are using your main keywords a certain amount of times throughout your content. To put it plainly, we donâ€™t want to use the keywords too much, or too little. I have found a comfortable density to be around 2.5%.

2. Emphasize Important Keywords with Bold, Italics, and Underlining: When creating your page, you can usually use simple HTML tags to emphasize your main keywords. Here are some examples:

Bold: your keyword
Italics: your keyword
Underline:your keyword

3. Header Tags: A header tags is a part of your page where the font is larger, and is reserved for the most important text on the page. To create a header tag, simply use this syntax:

your keyword

There are actually different levels of headings, 1â€5. I typically use h2 when emphasizing my keywords (the larger the number, the smaller the text will be, i.e. â€œh1â€ is seen as the most important).

4. Utilize Related Keywords: When creating your content, try to use a lot of related keywords. This means that if you are talking about dog training, you will also be using keywords like dog collar, dog leash, dog obedience, etc. This is typically done naturally as you write your content, but I wanted to point it out here. Sometimes people really try to focus completely on one keyword, and having diversity in your page and including other related keywords seems to help in the search engines.

5. Utilize Anchor Text: When you are linking to your website, make sure that you are making good use of the anchor text in the link. By â€œanchor textâ€, I am referring to the words that show up as the clickable link. An example of good anchor text would be: â€œDog Training Tipsâ€. A bad use of anchor text would be one that does not include the keywords we are optimizing for, such as â€œClick here for more informationâ€

A crucial factor in getting traffic is especially natural traffic from search engines is practicing proper search engine optimization. Now it is beyond the scope of this video series to explain to you everything about search engine optimization but i did want to highlight a few of the key important things in creating a website and individual pages on your website.
You want to keep in mind things like title tags are very important again if your not familiar with html i strongly suggest that you get familiar because you want to make sure that your site is optimized for the search engines.
And i got to tell you a surprising amount of people dont do this, which means that if you do its going to make it so much easier to rank higher than you realise.
Header tags also something very important. Underlining, bolding and italicizing and again the most important thing with all this is you want to take the most important phrases on your page that are those that you want to specifically rank for.
Hopefully the ones that you did keyword research for, and then hemming it all these things. The title tags the header and underlining. You basically want to show the search engine what the most important parts of your page are. So they understand that and they rank you for that.
Anchor text also very very important and when your getting all those links in the other videos that i talk about.Getting links from here and there you want to make sure that the anchor text the you are using for a specific links is going to be optimized for the page it is pointing to.
You can see in the above article that include an example of anchor text and how i would create would create anchor text for a page that i am trying to optimize. Search engine optimization is incredibly important and some people just explore there avenues for there site and ppc and in my opinion they are throwing away a huge potential amount of free traffic from the search engines and you don’t want to do that.

Traffic Generation Part 21 – Using Ebay For Traffic

Ebay is filled with an insane amount of people, ready to purchase products, and can be a great outlet to explore for traffic. I have had success selling products on ebay and taking a small loss, in exchange for gaining a new customer.

Ebay also has its own classified ads system, which is worth exploring because of not only the traffic, but due to the valuable backlink you would receive as well.

Using eBay for traffic.
eBay is a fantastic place its one of the top websites in the world and it gets a ton of ton of traffic. Of course whatever your website is there ways that you can get traffic to it from there.
You might want to take one of your products and sell it on ebay. One thing that people do is they sell a product on there and they lose a little bit of money on the sale but the thing is it gets them new customers.
Something o consider you can also run classified ads on eBay to mention your site. Again it can get you a lot of traffic. If you take the time to look what people are looking for on eBay and are able to find a connection with your site you can get a ton of traffic from eBay because ebay is made up of people sitting there ready to buy stuff.
If your able to pull that sort of traffic into your website you can offer them stuff and make a ton of money from them of course thats always the goal. So again this is`nt going to be fit for everyone but i suggest that you check it out and if you are able to work links into your auctions at the very least its going to be a backlink from ebay which is nothing to sneeze at.
Then again classifieds ads are something worth considering and even selling things that are going to be a loss for you just to get the customers that you can make repeated sales from your website itself.

Traffic Generation Part 20 – Pay Per Click Advertising (PPC)

There is no substitute for pay per click advertising (PPC). If you want to drive a huge amount of traffic to your site immediately, and have the money, it will certainly accomplish that. You just need to make sure you donâ€™t lose your shirt in the process!

[WPMID=1] advertising occurs when you pay one of the search engines to show an ad for your site in the paid section of the search results. Many people have had success with PPC, though most people fail. I would suggest that if you are just starting out you stay away from PPC until you know a bit more about how to sell to your niche.

Once you are more established, and familiar with what keywords will convert well for you, investing in PPC is a natural progression.

Pay per click advertising is a fantastic way to get a ton of traffic to your site. Unfortunately its not free, but i wanted to mention it because people that do have money its a way that you can get immediate traffic.
In some of the other things that i have mentioned it can be quite a bit of work to get traffic but this is more of a minimal type of work but it does cost money.
Pay per click is say for example you go to google and you type dog training you see that you get the search results but you also get the ads here. What you can do is you can bid on specific phrases and however much you bid is going to be how high your ad is.
So of course it can result in an awful lot of traffic but it can also result in a fantastic loss, if you don’t want ppc i am going to be honest with you it can be very brutal and if you don’t know what you are doing you can get in there bidding on the wrong words, words that are not going to convert into sales you can literally watch your wallet shrink and shrink.
So i strongly recommend that if you want to check it out its beyond the scope of this video to show you what to do but if your serious about it then pick up a guide on ppc. Im going to suggest to you that you check out the top search engines they would be Google Adwords, Yahoo Search Marketing and Msn adcenter those are the three top ones and they represent something like 90% of all the traffic on the Internet.
Of course there are a ton of smaller ones too like 7search that some people rave about and say they make a lot of money and some people say they don’t work out because a lot of the traffic is fraudulent clicks.
So just to prove it out there check it out if you have the money and want to get some immediate traffic to your site but i urge you to be careful, and what i like to do is i like to build my sites and get free traffic and find out through there where people are buying then i can ppc that. I don’t like to lose the money upfront some people do it the reverse way they spend there money on ppc to see where the money is then build a site around that you can do it either way but ppc is something worth considering.

Traffic Generation Part 19 – Creating Your Own Bait

Whenever you post a link or ad about your website, you will want as many people as possible to click on it. One way to greatly increase your traffic is to offer people â€œbaitâ€.

An example of this would be giving something away for free. If you have a website on dog training, you could create a small ebook, or newsletter that offers some free helpful dog training advice. This would help to â€œbaitâ€ people to click through to your website.

The idea here is that by giving something away for free, you will wet peopleâ€™s appetite for more, leading them into an eventual sale!

Traffic Generation Part 18 – Thoughtful Blog Commenting

Commenting on other people’s blogs is a fantastic way to get some great backlinks. You have to remember that a large percentage of bloggers out there are doing it just as a hobby, and they will love it if you take the time to read their blog and make a thoughtful comment.

Do not spam your comments! If you try leaving a comment like ‘Nice Blog, Check Out My Website it is going to get taken down. The key here is showing the blog owner that you actually are interested in their blog, and want to contribute towards it.

If you really want to make the most of your time, only focus on blogs that have google page rank. This is a nice way to gauge the quality of the blogs you come across.

Traffic Generation Part 17 – Creating Your Own Affiliate Program

Affiliate marketing is very popular, and having people help you sell your own product can be a very powerful advantage. If you have your own product, I would strongly suggest either setting up your own affiliate program, or selling your product through a service such as Clickbank, which has its own program.

When other people sell for you, it is typical to offer them a large commission (it is not uncommon to see a 50/50 split), and this can result in a huge amount of sales. After all, the more you can do to encourage people to sell for you, the more money youâ€™ll make!

Even though I consider myself a talented marketer, and can generate my own sales, nothing can come close to what an army of motivated affiliates can do for you.
