Big brand site re-launch
Posted by Dave Wiltshire on February, 6th 2012As we mentioned last week, the team at Juno Web Design has been working tirelessly to re launch sites with improved functionality.
Juno has a great relationship with Graham and Green and finished a campaign to improve the sites look and capabilities, enabling consumers to browse and shop with ease.
Not only that, Juno have focused heavily on SEO so that Graham and Green rank well when customers search for anything that is home furnishings related. Graham and Green offer stunning furniture and soft furnishings for the home and office and have become a popular company, not just with customers and press, but take a look at social media and someone is always talking about their wants and desires from this beautiful shop.
By creating a more functional websites, clients are able to expand their brands and service clients, who may not have previously the capabilities to purchase.
Design HQ
Posted by Dave Wiltshire on February, 3rd 2012Another busy, nail-biting and exciting week at Juno Web Design, after hundreds of hours of work, this week saw the launch deadline for 3 of the biggest clients we have worked with. Some of us will admit to not having much sleep this week, but that is the dedication our team shows when changing over new websites onto new servers.
Much of the work has been back-end development, but as always design is key to the look and feel of the sites. Once the sites are up and running we can tell you more about the work we completed for these big London brands.
Today we’ve had the pleasure of a client traveling to Nottingham for a design day. We enjoy these type of days, we can really get under the skin of the clients and see what they want. They can also learn about the processes we use and [...]
Boom in ‘silver surfer’ e commerce
Posted by Dave Wiltshire on January, 30th 2012In recent news, Silver Surfers are the biggest group to shop online by a whopping 86%.
Over a third regularly shop on the web. Strangely, those aged 25-34 are least likely to shop online with 13% stating that they never use the Internet to purchase goods. Quite surprising, as this age group tends to be the target for many brands, as they have more disposable income.

Brits tend to shop online for an average of 2.4 hours a week, rather than 1.2 hours on the high street. Despite the increased time spent on the internet, the average spend is a little lower than on the high street. Men seem to be the biggest online spenders. These trends seem to skew the traditional way in which advertisers thought people spent. Traditionally, it would tend to be the females as the decision makers, when it [...]
An eye on design
Posted by Dave Wiltshire on January, 25th 2012A good-looking website is half the job. Websites that offer incredible imagery and design, that inspire you to spend time looking around, are what every business desires. Gone are the days of crammed in pictures, flash design, flying text and sounds. Users want to have a smooth, enjoyable, experience when visiting an online store or site, so design is targeted. It also represents the ethos of the company.
At Juno Web Design, we are lucky to have our own Duke of Design- Alex.

Alex has been with Juno for 10 months, he previously worked as a 3D artist, producing graphics for video games. He has a great eye for detail and really knows what customers want and enjoy. His creative style is vast, from hard-hitting advertising visuals, to boutique style websites. He is incredibly talented and can create something stunning from a [...]
Taking on a sweet tooth
Posted by Dave Wiltshire on January, 16th 2012Some of us are incredibly excited in the office, others are worried, because those with a sweet tooth are going to have to remain calm as the team work on our new client- Hancocks.

Hancocks is the UK’s leading wholesaler of confectionery- SWEETS! Hancocks was established back in 1962. Ray Hancock and his wife Liz started wholesaling confectionery from their sweet shop in Shepshed near Loughborough, Leicestershire. Their aim was to supplier local retailers and profit from purchasing sugary goods in bulk. The business as grown and moved from strength to strength with the introduction of the Internet and selling online. Now with Juno Web Design, we’re taking the next step to make purchasing smoother, optimize the site using product descriptions and SEO.

We plan to tidy things up, re-name pages to [...]
Everything is Straight Forward
Posted by Dave Wiltshire on January, 9th 2012The team at Juno Web Design have been putting their brains and creative juices to work on a recent project for Macmillan Publishing.
Straightforward is a range of student and teaching supports, which is flexible and simple to understand and follow. The second edition provides updated content which falls in line with the way teaching has changed over the past few years. Straightforward provides interactive word lists with pronunciations and you can opt for bespoke practice straight into your inbox.
Juno Web Design created a resource site for Students and teachers which features the Straightforward range of books and study aides from Macmillan.

Juno chose to use WordPress as the content management system which will allow the client to change any content, upload and manage videos, pictures, PDFs, audio and zip files.
This is a great way to interact with users and provide [...]

Graham and Green Number One for Home Accessories
Posted by Dave Wiltshire on June, 29th 2011Some time ago we were approached by the well known contemporary home accessories brand Graham and Green. Our remit for the project was to create a new website with better technology, targeted infrastructure and better order and customer management. In the early discussions we set out our intentions (on the block) to help grow the online business by 30% this year.
Graham & Green set out the search Home Accessories as the dream keyword and they we not ranking at all well for it. Along with a lot of other target phrases we have gained Number 1 (Numero Uno) result for the search phrase, just above Debenhams and House of Fraser.

[...]New Design for Godine Booking Service
Posted by Dave Wiltshire on May, 23rd 2011Godine is a really personal project for us as we have been heavily involved from conception as well as enjoying a long history of friendship with the company. Long have we been discussing a new web design with the team at Godine and recently we have got the go ahead. In honesty the old design is a few years out of date and in some ways has a little too much of the look and feel of the ‘clowns pocket’.
As such we are introducing some new current styles with a lot of thought towards a more on brand look and feel, with a heavy lean towards conversion. We have removed the weight of colour in the site to restructure the heirarchy of information and call to action with a view to increasing business revenue.
Alongside this we have undertaken a wholesale search and internet marketing [...]
