My Top 25 Favourite Twitter Tools

Twitter is a great service to help boost traffic to your web design, but it would be nothing without the other sites, tools, and apps that help you get the most out of it. Here i highlight 25 of  my favorite Twitter add-ons.

Desktop Applications

TweetDeck – Probably the most popular one. TweetDeck enables users to split their main feed (All Tweets) into topic or group specific columns allowing a broader overview of tweets. To do this All Tweets are saved to a local database.

Twitterlicious – Twitterlicious is a Windows application that makes using Twitter more fun. It handles all the hard work, leaving you to read and write tweets with the minimum fuss. Best of all, Twitterlicious is free!

Snitter – A Twitter client for Mac and Window. Snitter is Snook’s Twitter: an Adobe AIR-powered application for twittering. Keeping up with your friends has never been so fun!

Twhirl – Twhirl is a desktop twitter client, based on the Adobe AIR platform. There are a lot more things twhirl can do to improve your twitter experience, and it offers various configuration options to adapt to your personal needs.

Tweetr – For Mac and PC. Send files to your friends, but just dragging any file on to Tweetr. Tweetr will automatically upload your file and when it is done will provide a short url to send to your friends.

Web Applications (Firefox)

Twitbin – Twitbin can be used to send and receive messages from Twitter.

Tweetbar – Tweetbar works with both Firefox and Flock, and just like Twitbin, it’s a sidebar-based plugin which you can use to send and receive messages from Twitter.

TwitterNotifier – As the name suggests, TwitterNotifier notifies you with updates from your Twitter friends.

TwittyTunes – If you think that the world should know exactly which song are you listening to at any given time, then TwittyTunes is the plugin for you.

Ludicrous – For those who don’t like sidebar-based plugins, Ludicrous might be the ideal solution. It allows you to post updates to Twitter directly from your Firefox search bar.

Mobile Phone

iTweet – A mobile Twitter site designed for the iPhone.

Jargong – Check and publish tweets.

WildSets – Extensve Twitter app for mobile phones.

TwitterBerry – Twitter built for various BlackBerry devices. Update and view timelines with ease.

TreoTwit – Easily check and update your Twitter right from your Treo.

Search Twitter

Summize – A Twitter search engine, lately shaping into the leader of this space.

Tweet Scan – This is a search engine for Twitter indexing all the public messages on Twitter.

Twits Like Me – This tool helps you find people on Twitter who share your interests.

Twitterment – A search engine for Twitter powered by Google search.

Twubble – This also helps find people who share your interests on Twitter.

Twitter Stats

TwitGraph – This service provides graphs of your Twitter usage – tweets by day, top 5 words, top 5 links, and top replies.

GeoTwitterous – Enter a Twitter ID and this tool will display from where the people that particular person is following are in a global map.

Tweetburner – Tweetburner gives you click stats for the links you posted in Twitter.

TweetStats – You can grab your Twitter stats including your tweet timeline, tweet per month, and tweet per hour.

Twitt(url)y – This service tracks the most linked to urls on Twitter and display them Digg-style.
