Simplicity rules for Beers of Europe

Here at Juno we don’t take a one-size-fits all approach to design, and nor do we go at it with total disregard for the other vital aspects of making a good site. Like SEO, for example. Good web design needs to work hand-in-hand with SEO if decent search rankings are to be achieved, but this doesn’t have to mean complex techniques and fiddly navigation. Actually, it’s the exact opposite—simplicity rules, and Beers of Europe is one such site that’s benefited from this core concept.

Beers of Europe is a company with a truly unique edge. They’ve managed to target a niche market with a site that’s led to exceptional results, and we’re proud to say that we launched it last year. But, as ever, we don’t just launch things and let them carry on blindly—we like to take stock and implement a few tweaks every now and again to make things the best they can be. We wanted Beers of Europe to make a bigger splash on the results pages and that’s why we’ve incorporated a few SEO design tricks to help them climb up the rankings, with simplicity being the order of the day.

To do that we focused on re-building the site’s navigation for SEO benefit. Cleaning up the URLs was first on the list (example: if you want German beer you’d need www.beersofeurope.co.uk/german-beer. See? Simple!) and we moved on from that to tweak the Meta information and descriptions to make them more search-friendly, and it’s a few of these simple changes that have made all the difference. Our sole focus was to make things more intuitive for the user as well as search engines to deliver a great user experience combined with SEO prowess, and we’re pleased to say we’ve achieved it.
